Geography is an unbelievably dynamic subject area. Its relevance is everywhere we look. It encompasses why the UK has a housing crisis in the south but a deficit in the north to why people choose to live beneath Mount Etna, the most active volcano in Europe. Geography is the study of the atmosphere, cities, plate tectonics, coasts and the very places we experience and know about. It has the ability to straddle both science subjects and those rooted in the Arts and it provides students the opportunity to study the world around them, be that at local scale, national or even global. The range of skills that geography provides means not only is it a highly respected academic subject but is also very valuable to employers and within apprenticeships.
“Geography is the subject that holds the key to our future”.
